infoWhy this? Inequality and Re-distribution is taught because it develops an understanding of how the benefits of economic growth and globalisation are distributed within and between countries. Students explore the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality, how they are measured, and the impact they can have on individuals, businesses, and economies. Inequality and Re-distribution also encourages students to evaluate the effectiveness of policies such as taxation, welfare provision, and international aid in reducing poverty and promoting more equitable economic outcomes.

scheduleWhy now? Inequality and Re-distribution is taught after Global Labour Markets because students have already explored how globalisation affects employment, wages, and economic opportunities. This unit builds on that understanding by examining how economic growth and globalisation can create differences in income and wealth within and between countries. Inequality and Re-distribution brings together many of the themes studied throughout Theme 3 and develops students’ ability to evaluate policies aimed at improving living standards, reducing poverty, and promoting economic fairness.
