targetCurriculum intent The AQA A Level Geography curriculum aims to develop students’ understanding of the world through the study of physical and human processes and their interactions across a range of scales. It enables students to explore how environments and societies are interconnected, dynamic and constantly changing, and how these relationships shape contemporary global issues. Students develop a strong understanding of key concepts such as place, space, scale, systems and interdependence, and apply these to real-world challenges including climate change, globalisation, inequality and sustainability. The course also builds essential geographical skills, including fieldwork, data analysis, critical thinking and evaluation, enabling students to investigate issues independently and construct well-supported arguments. Overall, the curriculum aims to create informed, critical and reflective global citizens who can understand and evaluate the complex relationships between people, places and environments.
