Independent Investigation - NEA
infoWhy this? An independent geographical enquiry turns geographical ideas into questions that we can investigate through fieldwork and other evidence. Designing methods, analysing data, and evaluating conclusions develops research independence, critical judgement, and an understanding of how geographical knowledge is produced.
scheduleWhy now? By the summer of Year 12, the human and physical units provide a range of concepts, contexts, and methods from which to develop a focused investigation. Beginning now allows us to draw on skills developed through place studies and coastal enquiry, with scope to develop the investigation further in Year 13.
