infoWhy this? Investigating a self-selected geographical question develops independence, methodological judgement, and critical thinking. By linking geographical theory with primary or secondary evidence, we learn to justify research decisions, assess limitations, and draw defensible conclusions—skills valuable in further study, employment, and informed decision-making.
scheduleWhy now? Begun in Year 12 and completed early in Year 13, the investigation draws on prior study of physical systems, place, and global connections, alongside fieldwork and analytical experience. This timing allows us to consolidate that learning through sustained enquiry while taking greater responsibility for evaluating evidence and communicating findings.
