Designing and Making Principles
infoWhy this? Through investigating user needs, developing and communicating ideas, and making and evaluating prototypes, we learn to turn creativity into purposeful solutions. Practical work, testing, and refinement build confidence and encourage informed risk-taking rather than reliance on an initial idea.
scheduleWhy now? Following the core technical unit, we can begin to use our understanding of how products work to inform how we design and make them. Establishing this process now prepares us to make purposeful use of specialist material knowledge in the summer and to manage an independent NEA project in Year 11.
