infoWhy this? A sustained design-and-make project brings together identifying a need, investigating possibilities, developing ideas, and producing and evaluating a prototype. Taking ownership of this process develops independence, creativity, project management, and the practical judgement needed to respond constructively when ideas require improvement.

scheduleWhy now? By Year 11, we can draw on the core and specialist technical principles and the designing and making skills developed in Year 10. The contextual challenges are available from the preceding summer, and this autumn placement allows time to develop, test, and refine a response before submission later in Year 11.
