- Apply the ACCESS FM framework to analyse and compare two different maze products, providing specific examples for each criterion.
- Use IT software, such as 2D Design or PowerPoint, to create a detailed and visually interesting design idea for a maze product.
- Accurately measure and mark out dimensions on a piece of MDF using appropriate tools, such as a ruler, try square, or marking gauge.
- Fit and tension a coping saw blade correctly, orient the teeth appropriately, secure the MDF, use controlled strokes, turn the work gradually, and cut on the waste side of the marked line.
- Secure MDF with a bench hook or clamp before cutting or sanding, and keep hands away from the cutting path.
- Use appropriate dust extraction and eye protection when cutting or sanding MDF, and follow the department’s rules for respiratory protection.
- Manufacture a maze product to a high standard, demonstrating precise assembly, finishing techniques such as sanding and painting, and quality control.
