Mime is a performance strategy that uses movement, facial expressions, and gestures without speech to communicate meaning.
A still image is a frozen tableau that represents a specific moment in time or scene within a performance.
Thought tracking is when a performer speaks a character's inner thoughts aloud to give the audience insight into their mind.
Depiction is a structured form of drama combining still images and improvised scenes to explore a theme or storyline.
Narration is the act of describing what is happening in a scene to guide or inform the audience.
Polished improvisation is a scene that has been planned, rehearsed, and refined before performance.
Spontaneous improvisation is made up on the spot with no prior rehearsal or planning.
Characterisation involves the use of vocal and physical techniques to create a believable character different from the performer.
Character objective refers to what a character wants to achieve by the end of a scene.
A cliffhanger is a dramatic device used to end a scene in suspense, keeping the audience engaged and curious about what happens next.
Facial expressions and body language are essential performance tools to convey emotion, status, and intention non-verbally.
Gesture, posture, movement, and voice are key components in building and sustaining a convincing character.
